Thank you for visiting my site.  Here is a little bit about me.

I grew up, as Amber Rush, in Crawfordsville, IN, where my parents still live.  After graduating from North Montgomery High School in 1998, I moved to Upland, IN to attend Taylor University and graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology Systems.  While attending Taylor, I met and married my husband, Seth Corduan, in 2001.  Seth's dad, Win Corduan, is a Professor of Philosophy and Religion at Taylor.  You can visit his website here and see all of his achievements.

Seth and I moved to Muncie, IN briefly after I graduated and that was where I stumbled across the turning point in our lives.  After working extremely hard to get through college, I wanted to relax and do something that I enjoyed that wasn't so stressful.  I grew up on a farm, surrounded by animals and have always loved them, so I decided to go work for a kennel to be around dogs.  I looked through the phone book and came across American Pineacre Kennels.  I asked if they were hiring and she said they were and asked me to stop by.  I was hired on the spot.  I only worked there a couple of months, before I began my next job, but it was the most crucial two months of my life.

Phil and Jane Gray own American Pineacre Kennels and they also breed Great Danes and Whippets under the Owlwatch prefix.  Well, I absolutely fell in love with their Danes and so did my husband, who has never really liked dogs.  As soon as we moved into our house in Gaston, IN, we started the process of getting our first Great Dane.  We ended up getting Taylor, who is a daughter of Jane's male Great Dane, Gable.

Not only did Jane find us our first Dane (Taylor) and bless us with two of her Whippets (Mischa and Anna) and one of her Danes (Connor) to add to our family, she and Phil have become two of our best friends and our mentors in the dog world.  They got us involved in showing dogs and have patiently explained to us the complicated world of nutrition, behavior, and care for dogs, especially Danes.  I could write pages on how Phil and Jane have enriched our lives, but this is supposed to be a summary.  Anyone who knows them, already knows what I'm talking about anyway.

The job that I got after working at the kennel was a dream job for me.  During my time at Taylor, I had worked as a student in the Information Technology department and developed friendships with the employees of that department.  I had left and returned a few times to help out, but this time I got to stay.  The Associate Vice President of the department e-mailed me and asked if I would like to fill a new job that they had just written up.  Before I even knew for sure that I had the job, Seth and I had closed on our house.  That's how sure we were that God wanted me to take that job.  I started out part-time and worked up to full-time as Network Operations Technician, working as the Backup Administrator and also one of the System Administrators for the department.

Obviously dogs are a huge part of our lives.  In a few short years, we have become involved in conformation, obedience, rally, agility, and lure coursing and racing.  You can see our dogs' recent achievements here.  We have quickly joined many different clubs and held positions within those clubs.  Below is a summary of the clubs that Seth and I have become involved in.  Since we have made dogs our only hobby, I began looking into finding a job that filled my desire to work with dogs more.  There are a few different options out there, but none of them seemed to be the right timing.  Through various circumstances, Phil and Jane decided to retire and sell their kennel to  Seth and me.  I have left my job at Taylor and am now managing American PineAcre Kennels.  Thanks to Phil and Jane again for opening another door of enrichment and growth in my life.  And, or course, thanks to God for bringing these wonderful friends and mentors into our lives!
